Are you an inventor at heart? Do you think you have what it takes to fix problems big & small in our community? This club is for creative solutionaries who want to design a better world for themselves and our neighbors...and have fun doing it!
A Makerspace is a place where people come to apply the Engineering Design Process to individual or shared projects. The goal of the space is to explore, collaborate, and grow as critical thinkers and inventors!

We will start our journey each week and fire up our imaginations playing Make That Most Magnificent Thing: The Game by Fat Brain Toy Co. This first 1/2 hour is a time to transition from the school day and allow participants from different places to arrive. Feel free to pack a snack.
4:30-5:30 pm
Explore the concepts of Design Thinking through games, stories, and building cool inventions.

What is a Solutionary?
TEDxDirigo ~ The World Becomes What You Teach
What if, instead of debate teams, we created solutionary teams in which groups of students worked together to come up with the most imaginative, yet practical and cost-effective solutions to complex challenges?
These students could address issues in their own schools (e.g., cafeteria food or energy use); in their communities, or in the world, and in so doing begin to develop creative ideas for actually solving problems.
We could then implement the best ideas, enabling our students to understand the real power they have as solutionaries and the great pleasure and liberation to be found in taking responsibility for bettering their schools, communities, and the world.
